Welcome! Here you’ll find thoughtful answers to common questions about Equine Assisted Learning and what it’s like to work alongside horses.
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experience-based, non-riding (in my practice) approach to self-discovery and healing guided by horses. A bit like life coaching or self-development with a horse!
In a session, you can expect to engage in a variety of non-riding activities with our horses. This may include exercises in communication, trust-building, and mindfulness. We will guide you through each activity, helping you to connect with the horses and yourself.
No, all activities at Peace Horse Collective are conducted on the ground. We focus on building connections with horses through ground-based interactions, which can be just as impactful as riding.
Ground-based activities promote skills such as emotional awareness, communication, and getting into our bodies. They provide a safe environment to explore personal growth and healing, and they foster a deeper understanding of non-verbal communication with the horses.
No prior horse experience is necessary! Our programs are designed for individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, you will feel comfortable and supported during your sessions.
We welcome participants of all ages! However, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please check specific program details for any age restrictions.
We recommend wearing comfortable weather appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for the session.
While individual sessions can offer valuable insights, we strongly recommend engaging in a series of three or more sessions to achieve lasting change. This extended commitment allows for a deeper exploration of your goals, the opportunity to address recurring challenges, and the opportunity to track your progress over time.
Many people feel some fear or nervousness around horses. We understand! Often that initial fear can be a doorway into an especially transformative session. Safety is always our priority and we want you to leave feeling calm, renewed and more confident. You will never be forced to do something you don’t want to do.
Yes. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can participate and connect with our horses. If you have specific needs or limitations, please reach out to us, and we will work together to ensure a comfortable and fulfilling experience for you.
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
