About Leiko — Founder of Peace Horse Collective

In the presence of horses,
we remember our true selves.

What moves me most is how generous horses are and how willing they are to simply be with us, offering their presence and guidance without judgment or condition.

And in that freedom, something remarkable unfolds. They show up in ways I could never manufacture: standing beside you in stillness, giving you space when you feel overwhelmed, holding your gaze at exactly the moment you need it. These aren't trained behaviors. They are genuine responses arising from their own wisdom and deep willingness to meet us exactly as we are.

What makes Equine Guided Insight℠ different begins with a simple act: I give the horses choice. They are never directed, cued, or asked to perform. They move freely and engage entirely on their own terms.

Out of that calling came Equine Guided Insight℠, my own approach within the field of Equine Assisted Learning. I began to recognize something in my sessions that existing frameworks couldn't quite name, horses don't just reflect us, they actively guide us toward truth.

HEALING THAT CAN OCCURR IN THE PRESENCE OF HORSES.

I studied with horse woman and men, like Linda Kohanov, Emilie Cajsdotter, and Andre Leclipteux, whose trail blazing work inspired me to delve deeper, and in 2023 I welcomed Bella Luna—a shimmering white Lipizzaner horse—into my life. As our bond deepened, my true calling emerged:

As I navigated adulthood, horses faded from my life, reflecting a disconnection from myself both physically and emotionally. It took decades to return to horses—and to that sense of grounding and connection horses had provided me as a child.

Horses were a constant in my childhood. At five, I learned to ride bareback on my friend’s pony, spent summers at riding camp, and dreamed of having a horse of my own.

In 2019, I relocated to the serene Berkshire mountains of New England, taking time to reflect on my life and envision a future focused on spiritual development and healing. This period of introspection reignited my longing to reconnect with horses. I began riding and attending any horse-related workshops I could find, all the while feeling pulled to do something deeper…

But something was missing.

With degrees in anthropology and social science, I built a career in the art world, founding an art advisory and serving as a Senior Specialist in South & Southeast Asian antiquities at Christie’s Auction House in NYC. It was meaningful work...

In my young adulthood, I immersed myself in the spiritual traditions and ancient arts of the Himalayas while living in Kathmandu, Nepal. This experience profoundly shaped my understanding of culture, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all things.

The journey that brought me here

my story

At Peace Horse Collective, we envision a heart-centered world inspired by the profound guidance offered by horses and the wisdom of nature. By recognizing our interconnectedness with all living beings, we cultivate a deep sense of belonging and trust, fostering qualities such as kindness, compassion, humility, and a genuine openness to learning. My mission is to guide individuals in developing greater self-awareness through the insights gained from animals and nature, teaching us how to live in balance. I believe that transformative change begins within; by shifting our energy, we can create meaningful changes in our lives and the world around us.
